It isn’t easy to get good health care. You have to know what questions to ask, how the system works, how to make good decisions, and how to select the best healthcare providers and facilities.
Getting a healthcare problem treated can involve a winding and complicated maze of questions, wrong turns and apparent dead ends.
What’s more, you’ve got to change your attitude. It’s your body. So you’re in charge. You’ll need experts, but you can’t get great answers without learning to ask great questions.
I have years of experience in hospitals and healthcare as a registered nurse, administrator, writer and editor. You’ll find my writing in a wide range of magazines, journals, and national newspapers, including the L.A. Times, U.S. News & World Report, CBS News, Bio-Medicine, Neurology Now, Costco Connection, Self, Shape, and The Disney Channel, among many others. I have served as a managing editor for WebMD and Editor-in-Chief of a prominent nursing magazine.
And, as an elected trustee of a Health Care District in California, I understand how to harness the political process for positive community change.
My hope is that I can apply what I’ve learned to help you get the health care you need.
